|Portrayed by||Jinhee Joung|
Kimmy Jin is Beca's roommate from the movie Pitch Perfect. She is an unfriendly narrow-minded girl who only likes other Asians and Koreans such as herself. She closes herself off from Beca and never talks to her and doesn't consider her a friend.
Kimmy Jin appeared in the first movie. She was Beca's roommate when she went to college. When she first got there, Kimmy was already there and when Beca tried to talk to her, she ignored her. She left to go to the activity fair and joined the Korean student club where she was shown to be way more open and sociable with everyone else there. Later in the movie, she returned home with some other Asians while Beca was watching a movie and rudely called her "the white girl" to her friends, and they all laughed. She would later be seen in the movie, making a brief cameo, where she is seen with two other Asian friends of hers, sitting on the couch, watching a movie with 3D glasses. She would be seen again, smiling and waving goodbye to her friends through the window as they leave. Beca is sitting at the table, alone in a time of desperation. Kimmy then wishes Beca a happy spring break. Though she wasn't seen on screen when she did this and she sounded pretty unenthusiastic, this implies that overtime, she might have learned some racial tolerance and has lightened up to her. Kimmy would not appear in the second Pitch Perfect movie, meaning that she has either left the school, or she just didn't happen to be around at any of the particular times when Beca was in her room or at school.
She appears rather cold, unfriendly, and mean. She only befriends Asians and will keep all other races blocked off from her life. When she is with other Asians, she acts like a normal, civilized human being and happily socializes with them. She seems to be a happy and friendly girl who loves laughing and having fun. Kimmy hates all other races as she was seen making fun of Beca for being white in front of her friends. She is a high and mighty proud-to-be Asian who actually takes this to a level so high, that she bashes others for their non-Asian ethnicities. Later in the movie however, she wishes Beca a good spring break and appears to have opened up more and learned some tolerance.

"The white girl is back."
- - Kimi addressed Beca as this when she and her Asian friends return to her room and see her there.
"Happy spring break."
- - Kimi says this to Beca, the only thing even the slightest bit nice she has even done to her.
