Bellas at the ICCA semifinals
The Bellas Semifinals is the fourth performance by The Bellas The Bellas come in 3rd place, defeated by The Footnotes and The Treblemakers and not advancing to the finals. The songs sang are the same as the 2011 ICCA finals and Regionals, The Sign, Eternal Flame and Turn the Beat Around.
As The Bellas are singing The Sign, Beca notices that the audience and judges are obviously uninterested and dozing off, and The Footnotes are teasing them. Beca then starts mashing up Bulletproof with The Sign, making the Bellas surprised, but noticeably impressing the judges. After the performance, Aubrey confronts Beca about her improvisation and "hooking up with Jesse ." Jesse, nearby, then comes to Beca's defense, but she tells him to "back off" and storms out leaving him and The Bellas. With the help of Benji, it is revealed later that the leader for The Footnotes is actually a highschooler, and the group is disqualified. The Bellas advance to the finals instead.
